How to Press Your DTF Transfers

At Sid DTF Transfer, we are committed to helping you achieve professional, long-lasting prints with every press. Follow these detailed instructions carefully to get the best results from your DTF transfers.

What You Will Need:

  • Heat press machine (recommended, not a home iron)
  • Garment (cotton, polyester, blends, etc.)
  • Sid DTF Transfer
  • Parchment paper or a Teflon sheet (optional for extra protection)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Set Up Your Heat Press

  • Temperature: Preheat your press to 310°F (155°C).
  • Pressure: Set the pressure to medium to firm. It's important that the pressure is even across the entire design for a perfect transfer.
  • Time: Set the timer for 10 to 15 seconds.

Tip: Always allow your heat press to fully reach the set temperature before starting.

2. Prepare the Garment

  • Place your garment on the heat press platen.
  • Pre-press the garment for 5 seconds without the transfer.
  • This step removes moisture and wrinkles, ensuring a smooth surface for the best adhesion.

3. Position the Transfer

  • Place your Sid DTF Transfer onto the garment with the printed side facing up.
  • Adjust it carefully to ensure it is centered and aligned exactly where you want the design to appear.

4. Press the Transfer

  • Lower the heat press and apply medium to firm pressure.
  • Press for 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Do not move the press during this time.

5. Peel the Film

  • After the time is up, lift the press and immediately peel the transfer film while it's hot.
  • Peel in one smooth, steady motion.
  • If any part of the design lifts, lay the film back down and press again for five more seconds.

6. Optional: Second Press

  • For extra durability and a softer feel, place a parchment paper or Teflon sheet over the design.
  • Press again for 5 seconds using the same temperature and pressure.

Aftercare Instructions:

  • Turn the garment inside out before washing.
  • Machine wash in cold water with mild detergent.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Tumble dry low or hang dry for the best results.
  • Do not iron directly on the design.

Important Notes:

  • Always do a small test press if you are using a new fabric type.
  • Adjust pressure slightly if necessary based on fabric thickness.
  • Our Sid DTF Transfers are designed to work on a variety of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends.
